ABOUT THE CODE WIZARD

Jimmy Wayne Stephens has over 30 years of experience in architectural design, construction and accessibility / building code compliance.  

 

He received his Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1995 from the University of Tennessee Knoxville and has 15+ years of experience in architecture offices in Portland, OR and in Tennessee.  

​

Jimmy Wayne spent another 10+ years as a Plans Examiner for the City of Nashville, TN Building Codes Department during an unprecedented time of growth, where he earned a reputation for sterling customer service and unparalleled Accessibility and building code expertise.   He has reviewed, corrected and approved plans for billions of dollars worth of construction.

As the parent of a child who uses a wheelchair for mobility, he has a passion for and understanding of Accessibility that far exceeds what can be  found in books.
